Building a Stronger, More Compassionate Garland County
Housing & Tenant Protections
Everyone deserves safe, decent housing. Garland County should work with community partners, landlords, and local governments to address substandard housing conditions and hold negligent property owners accountable.
I support:
Stronger enforcement against unsafe rental properties and chronic code violations
Increased collaboration between the county, city, and housing organizations
Policies that encourage safe, affordable housing for working families, seniors, and individuals in recovery
Protecting tenants from exploitative and predatory housing practices
Housing stability is essential to healthy families, strong neighborhoods, and economic growth.
Mental Health & Crisis Response
Too many people experiencing mental health crises end up cycling through our jail system instead of receiving treatment.
I support:
Establishing a local Crisis Stabilization Unit that provides short-term mental health intervention and treatment
Expanding partnerships between law enforcement, healthcare providers, and behavioral health professionals
Creating alternatives to incarceration for individuals experiencing mental health emergencies
Investing in services that reduce repeat arrests and emergency room visits
Mental illness should be treated as a health issue whenever possible—not simply as a criminal justice issue.
Public Transportation & Accessibility
Reliable transportation connects people to jobs, healthcare, education, and essential services.
I support:
Expanding and improving public transportation options throughout Garland County
Increasing accessibility for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and working families
Stronger collaboration between county and city governments to identify transportation needs
Pursuing state and federal funding opportunities to improve transit services
Transportation should not be a barrier to opportunity.
Animal Welfare & Community Partnerships
A compassionate community cares for both people and animals.
